Rentcreda is a service designed to enable tenants to conveniently pay their rent online, all the while earning rewards and enhancing their credit through rent payments. We will initiate an electronic transfer to your landlord on Rent Day 2 PM EST. While it may take a brief period for your landlord to receive the rent, nearly all electronic transfers are typically processed and delivered by 5 PM EST. Rentcreda offers the flexibility to customize your security question and answer, or alternatively, opt for automatic generation in the event your landlord does not have auto-deposit enabled. In both scenarios, you have seamless access to your security details, accompanied by timely reminders sent to both you and your landlord on Rent Day via email!

Rentcreda is established ALL ACROSS CANADA!

Yes! Since the Credit builder is an all-in-one package, we require all our users to opt in for 6 months minimum! This is a minimum requirement from Experian and Equifax!

Category 1 Paying your landlord using Rentcreda.

No direct action is needed from your landlord for you to start using Rentcreda to pay your rent. We'll automatically charge your preferred payment method each month and transfer the rent via Interac E-transfer. Your landlord will receive an email notification on rent day. The transfer will show up as "Rentcreda sent you money" in the subject line. If there are any questions, you or your landlord can reach out to our team for assistance

Absolutely! Rentcreda can indeed be used to pay your corporate landlord. As long as your landlord accepts Interac E-Transfer via email, you can use Rentcreda to make your monthly rent payments hassle-free!

Currently, Rentcreda can exclusively process payments to landlords using Interac E-Transfer. We understand that many landlords prefer alternative payment methods like Pre-Authorized Payments, Bill Payments, or Cheque. Please be assured that we are diligently working to expand our payment options to accommodate these preferences. Stay tuned for updates! .

On the designated rent day, both the tenant and landlord will receive an email from Rentcreda confirming that the payment is scheduled for 12 PM EST on that day, along with a confirmation email to tenant. .

We're excited to announce that Rentcreda users now have the flexibility to pay their rent using various payment methods. These options include any eligible Canadian credit card and international Visa, Mastercard, or American Express credit cards and Canadian debit cards. Please note that prepaid cards and Visa gift cards are not currently accepted.

Category 3 Account Approval Process

Due to Canadian Financial Compliance Regulations, Rentcreda mandates all users to upload a valid Canadian residential lease agreement before proceeding with rent payments through the platform. This is necessary to verify several crucial legal aspects, including confirming that rent payments are directed to a certified Canadian landlord, ensuring that the monthly scheduled rent aligns with the listed amount, ensuring that the rent amount does not surpass $10,000 per month, and verifying that the user's address matches the one listed on the residential lease agreement.

In Canada, depending on your province, leases often transition to a month-to-month arrangement after the initial term ends, without requiring a new lease agreement. If you're in this situation, you can still use your original lease when joining Rentcreda, even if it's technically expired, as long as you're still paying rent for the same property on a month-to-month basis.

Yes, tenants will have to verify themselves as well to have their account approved. This is a requirement following Canadian Laws and Registrations. Tenants will go through all necessary steps required for account completion Register and landlords will have to do a selfie check sent via email.

Category 4 Scheduling your First Payment

We require a 4-business-day gap between a successful Rentcreda payment and your Rent Day to ensure fund settlement. Transactions are processed daily at 4 am EST, with Rent Payments sent to landlords by 12 pm EST on Rent Day. For example, if you activate your account and send out your first payment on May 27th, 2024, your first payment could be processed by may 31st at 4 am, and your first rent payment sent to your landlord on March 1st, 2024, at 12 pm.

To commence earning rewards on your rent with Rentcreda, you'll need: Validation of your legal identity using a Canadian mobile phone number. An accepted payment method. A PDF copy of your lease agreement

Certainly, if you're subletting and your name isn't on the original lease, you can still use Rentcreda as long as your listed landlord is named as a tenant on the primary lease. During the Rentcreda onboarding process, just upload the original lease given to you by your sublessor (the original tenant) and list their details as your landlord on Rentcreda.

Category 6 Processing your Rentcreda payment

. Your payment method is always charged four business days before your scheduled Rent Day to ensure adequate time for fund settlement before disbursing to your landlord. Payments are processed every morning at 4 am EST, and Rent Payments are issued to landlords by 3 pm EST on your designated Rent Day. However, note that individual banks may take additional hours to successfully deliver Interac E-transfers after they are sent.

. To quickly resolve a failed payment with Rentcreda, follow these steps: First, contact your bank to remove any security flags that may be causing the issue. Then, log in to your Rentcreda account and access the emergency payment link at rentcreda.co/pay-now to re-enter your payment details. After completing the payment, check your email for confirmation. The payment method used will automatically become your preferred method for future payments, but if you used an alternative method for this payment, remember to update your preferences in the Rentcreda dashboard accordingly.

If your rent payment fails to be charged to your card, we make every effort to notify you promptly via email, allowing time to address the issue and ensure timely payment to your landlord. However, if the payment hasn't been successfully processed by Rentcreda or if the funds haven't settled yet, we're unable to send the scheduled rent e-transfer to your landlord as planned. If your rent is due today and you haven't been successfully charged, please submit a support ticket, and our team will assist you accordingly.

Category 7. RENT DAY

Rent e-transfers are dispatched at 12 PM EST on your designated rent day. Although they usually arrive promptly, occasionally, they may take a few hours. If your rent e-transfer hasn't been received by 5 PM EST on your scheduled rent day, please don't hesitate to submit a support ticket, and our team will gladly assist you

Upon successful transmission of your rent via e-transfer at 12 PM EST on your designated Rent Day, you can anticipate an automated email notification from Rentcreda confirming that your rent has been paid on your behalf.

As a member of Team Rentcreda, you'll never have to worry about e-transfer limits again!
